Grades 7–9 · Innovation & Tinkering

Arduino Tinker Kit

Real circuits. Real soldering. Real engineering.

This is where students stop plugging in modules and start building circuits from components. The Arduino Tinker Kit is an open electronics bench — Arduino UNO, a 400-point breadboard, a soldering iron, and a deep bin of sensors, displays, and actuators. Students prototype on the breadboard, then solder permanent builds, programming everything in the Arduino IDE (C++). It's the kit for labs that want genuine innovation and tinkering, not just guided activities.

From Module to Maker

The earlier kits keep wiring safe and guided. Tinker deliberately opens it up — because by Grades 7–9, the learning is in building the circuit yourself.

🔌

Breadboard prototyping

Students design and test real circuits on a 400-point breadboard — resistors, capacitors, components — learning electronics the way engineers actually prototype.

🔥

Soldering & permanent builds

With a soldering iron, solder, and dot-matrix PCB, students move a working prototype into a permanent build — a genuine maker skill few school programs teach.

💡

Open-ended innovation

Bluetooth control, a water pump, motion and gas sensors, displays — the parts to invent, not just follow. The kit for an innovation or tinkering lab with room to explore.

Common Questions

Soldering is a Grades 7–9 activity, run under teacher supervision with the safety guidance built into the curriculum and Virtual Master Trainer. It's a deliberate, real engineering skill — and a major draw for an innovation or tinkering lab.
It's the kit for labs that want AI/Robotics plus genuine innovation and tinkering — typically our premium 80-minute Innovation lab configuration. We include it when a school wants open-ended electronics and prototyping, not just guided builds.
The AIoT kit (Arduino Nano) uses plug-and-play modules over RJ11/JST for guided IoT projects. The Tinker kit (Arduino UNO) opens up the breadboard and soldering iron for students to build circuits from scratch — a step up in independence and depth.
